Meghan insists she ‘cares for father’
STUDENT Daniella Timperley has got an invitation to tomorrow’s royal wedding – but first has to swot up for examinations before she can start celebrating.
Daniella, 17, of Antrim, has been chosen to attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day after she was named this year’s All-Ireland Top Youth Volunteer.
However, the sixth-form student at St Louis Grammar School, Ballymena, is continuing her studies until right before the wedding.
Speaking to the Irish Daily Mail, she said she would be going in to school today for revision classes before travelling to Windsor with her mother, Marie, tonight.
‘I’m in school on Friday before I go for revision classes. Exams are kind of stressful. I had one on Wednesday and two next week. I’ve barely had a chance [to study]. It’s been crazy,’ she laughed.
While she has been ‘distracted’ by her exams, the Randalstown teenager said she’s ‘really excited’ about attending the wedding.
‘It’s getting closer and a bit more real because I’ve been distracted the past couple of weeks with exams,’ she said.
Daniella, who is heavily involved with charity work, and her mother were told to be at Windsor Castle, where the wedding will take place, at 8.30am on Saturday and are expected to be there until 3pm.
They will stay with a friend who lives near the wedding venue.
Daniella will do her own make-up and hair after being styled by the Irish Daily Mail’s You Magazine. Since news of her invitation was released by her school, Daniella has been contacted by the world’s media to discuss her reaction.
‘My school told me the news before I got it,’ she said. ‘It was pretty surreal actually. I didn’t expect it. I didn’t know it was a thing! I was just really, really happy.’
