Bachelor Hugh is finally about to tie the knot at 57
HE’S had a string of famous girlfriends who have failed to tie him down.
But, at the age of 57, Hugh Grant is finally tying the knot – marrying his Swedish girlfriend Anna Eberstein.
The father of five’s plans to marry the producer, 39, were revealed after wedding banns were posted at Kensington and Chelsea register office in London.
The official notice was on display at Chelsea Old Town Hall, close to the couple’s £10million (€11million) home.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘This is a day none of Hugh’s friends ever thought would come. He will soon be a pensioner and has finally become a family man.’
Ms Eberstein had the couple’s third child in March – they also have son John, five, and a daughter aged two.
Grant – star of Four Weddings And A Funeral and Notting Hill – also has sixyear-old Tabitha and Felix, five, born three months after John, from his relationship with Tinglan Hong. The actor, whose ex-girlfriends include Liz Hurley and Jemima Khan, is currently on TV as disgraced British MP Jeremy Thorpe in A Very English Scandal, which began on BBC1 last night.
His best-known relationship is with Ms Hurley, and they are still friends. He is godfather to her son.
Grant previously called marriage ‘unromantic’, saying: ‘Do I think humans are meant to be in 40-yearlong faithful relationships? No, No, No.’
But earlier this year Grant described fatherhood as ‘the nicest thing’ ever to happen to him.
‘It’s just lovely to have all that love around. Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It’s unheard of in my case and they love you and it’s all enchanting,’ he told People TV.
A representative for Grant did not respond to requests for a comment.
