First ‘Beyoncé Mass’ and now she buys a church!

-

BEYONCÉ has reportedly bought a church in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, the church was listed at $850,000 (€700,000) and is 7,500 sq ft. It is more than a century old and has been out of use as a place of worship for some time.

It’s not the first time that Beyoncé, 36, has hit headlines over a church – earlier this month Grace Cathedral in San Francisco held its first ‘Beyoncé Mass’, with the service including her solo songs and Destiny’s Child anthems.

Reverend Yolanda Norton had the idea to base the service around the pop icon, saying: ‘When we talk about womanist biblical interpretation, Beyoncé felt like a natural fit,’ reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

‘If we look at the trajectory of her person and her relationships, we can see so many issues black women face and how it can affect how we interpret the text,’ she told the San Francisco Chronicle.

A few weeks ago, Beyoncé, pictured left, delighted Destiny’s Child fans with two performances at Coachella, the hugely popular California music festival. The group last performed together at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show after going on hiatus to pursue solo careers in 2003 and finally disbanding three years later.

Beyoncé received rave reviews for her Coachella show, at which she performed with her husband Jay-Z, and her sister Solange.

It won’t be long until Beyoncé is back on stage, as she confirmed rumours in early March that she and Jay-Z, 48, were going on tour.

The star had to pull out of last year’s Coachella due to her pregnancy.
