Flashback... Kylie gets all nostalgic turning 50
POP pixie Kylie Minogue finds herself in a contemplative mood before turning 50 next week. The pop star shared a picture of herself as a child online, in which her big smile and wavy blonde hair are instantly recognisable.
‘This photo was taken at home in Melbourne, Australia, in our front room by my Uncle Noel,’ writes Kylie. ‘I didn’t know I would end up spending so much time in front of the camera!’
The singer, will celebrate her milestone birthday with a bash in London.
She told Marie Claire magazine this week that she could do with a spa day after a hectic year, including recording a new album.
‘Last year was making the album, and it sometimes feels like life didn’t happen before it. It has been so overwhelming and a moment in time, now that I’m in my 50s,’ she said. She insists that her love life has not been a failure, despite reaching 50 alone, after engagement to British actor, Joshua Sasse, ended last year. Kylie told Graham Norton on BBC Radio that she didn’t consider her non-lasting relationships a bad thing. ‘My love life is often painted as being a failure and I don’t think of it that way,’ she said. ‘Yeah, there’s not that postcard moment but is that for everyone? Is that for me?’ Before Sasse, she dated model Andrés Velencoso from 2008 to 2014 and actor Olivier Martinez from 2002 to 2007. She has also dated the late INXS singer, Michael Hutchence, singer and actor, Jason Donovan, and model James Gooding.
