IRELAND FALL SHORT AGAIN

-

IRELAND coach Noel McNamara wants his men to put a second disappointing defeat behind them and bounce back against Georgia on Thursday. Ireland have only a mid-tournament place to battle for now at the World Rugby U-20 Championships, having lost their opening game to France. ‘Nothing is going to change, they are going to work hard and we are going to prepare well,’ he said. Ireland conceded a try from a blockdown inside a minute which saw them fall 12-0 behind. However, a try from Caelan Doris and the boot of Conor Dean cut the gap to 1210 at half-time. Ireland took charge after the restart with Doris putting Michael Sylvester through to cross. Dean made it 1710 with his conversion. South Africa Wandisile Simelane levelled the sides with his first try after 52 minutes, and then edged his team in front with his second try before completing the rout in the closing minutes.
