I WON’T BE USING THEM EVER AGAIN

-

FOR Anna-Marie Dreyfus, it was the response from Irish Ferries that put her off the service for life.

‘The reality is that you have 20,000 very unhappy people that have just had their holiday plans put completely up the spout,’ she said.

‘It’s ridiculous and I’m quite a loyal person, customer service is extremely important to me – but this is it, this is me done with them.’

Due to the cancellations, the Paris-based Dreyfus family will have to leave a day later than planned and change arrangements for their pre-booked accommodation in Ireland.

After using the service biennially for more than a decade, Irishwoman Anna-Marie says she will be now be hugely out of pocket.

‘I’m losing a day’s holiday, a day of annual leave which I don’t have because of this – so I’m going into debt for my holidays,’ she said.

‘It’s disappointing because we’ve never had a problem with Irish Ferries before; we even celebrated my daughter’s 12th birthday on board with birthday cake.

‘But this is just disgraceful – the ferry isn’t even ready.’

She first contacted the company’s customer service line after being notified of the cancellations through a news article on Tuesday. She said she did not receive a response for another 15 hours.

‘It’s made the situation so much worse because they’re not taking care of their customers, they’re handling these cancellations in the most ridiculous manner and they’re proposing no gestures to make the situation easier for passengers affected,’ she said.
