Cher admits she needs more work... on her musical!

CHER says her forthcoming Broadway musical is a work in progress.

The 72-year-old, pictured, speaking with the Chicago Tribune, admitted that she’s still ironing out the kinks in the production – a biographical musical titled The Cher Show – after a recent run in Chicago.

‘Some parts of it are really fabulous,’ said Cher, who heads to New York City for previews in November before the musical officially opens on December 3. ‘We’re going to work on the other parts.’

The Burlesque star said that there have been highs and lows throughout the production process, as she and her team look to troubleshoot areas months ahead of its arrival in the Big Apple.

‘In many parts, it was much, much better than I thought it would be,’ Cher said. ‘And there were no parts where I wanted to gouge my eyes out.’

The If I Could Turn Back Time singer said that her musical ‘needs work’ at this time, noting, ‘I’m not supposed to say that, but I don’t care.’ The versatile star, who captured an Oscar for her work in 1987’s Moonstruck, said that she’s been working alongside the show’s director Jason Moore to streamline the dialogue and presentation.

‘I tell him things. My brain is going so fast as I try to glean all the nuances,’ she said.

‘There are lines in the show that sound like quotes but aren’t quite right. I’ve been telling him the real quotes. I have a lot to say.

‘And I am pushing them to do three dance songs in a concert-style way at the end, a bit like they do in Mamma Mia. I think the audience would like that.’
