LIFE’S left Dolly so scared of human strangers that when summer comes Di can’t call in a shearer — instead she has to do it herself with nail scissors. Dolly, a breeding nanny at a farm park, came to Manor Farm in 2012 when they started neglecting her because she’d become barren. ‘She barely had the strength to hold her head up,’ says Di. ‘But she had an indomitable spirit we could all do with.’ Dolly, who has no teeth, was fattened up with mashed banana and is now in the equivalent of her 90s.
