Goat that cost €3,000 to perk up

OF ALL the Manor Farm animals, Jo cost the most. So thin when Di rescued him from a petting zoo that he couldn’t hold his neck up, she nursed him back to health in her kitchen. ‘He came up to me as if to say “help me,”’ she says. Jo was covered in lice and had digestive problems. ‘We nearly lost him several times — he was always the one needing the vet at midnight,’ says Di. But she doesn’t begrudge a penny of the €3,000 he cost. ‘He’s the sweetest creature,’ she says.
