Man is held over missing Saoirse
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a woman.
Saoirse Smyth, 28, was last seen at her home in Omeath, Co. Louth, in April 2017.
The man was arrested in Newry, Co. Down. Gardaí searched a house in Omeath yesterday.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has launched a murder investigation. PSNI Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce said: ‘While keeping an open mind, I now believe the potential exists for Saoirse to have, sadly, been murdered.’
