Galway v Kilkenny, Semple Stadium, Sunday, 3pm, Live: RTÉ 1 Kilkenny’s stirring comeback last Sunday preserves Brian Cody’s remarkable record of never having been beaten by the same opposition in two consecutive championship games. Replays are generally won by those who learnt more from the first game – it is why Cody has only lost one of six as the Cats boss. But the sense is that Micheál Donoghue has a few more lessons to absorb from last weekend’s stalemate. Perhaps it was a little bit of complacency that saw Galway so far off-kilter. Their touch let them down at crucial stages and their game was littered by errors, mostly of the unforced variety. Last Sunday may yet be seen as the jolt that Galway needed to propel them to further glory, but they won’t get anything easy in Thurles.
