÷IT has been quite some time since I witnessed such a ridiculous sight as David Norris, pictured, throwing a wobbler in the Seanad, like he did the other day. He looked like a demented buffoon in the TV footage as he accused the media of repeatedly lying about him. I’d be hard pressed to think of any public figure who has been treated more respectfully by the ladies and gentlemen of the press than Mr Norris. Whatever he went through in the last presidential election was all of his own making. ÷THOSE of you who like that sort of thing might be interested to know that there are three full hours of Eric Clapton on Sky Arts this evening. Me, I can’t imagine anything worse. Apart, that is, from the Santana concert that is on the same channel earlier in the evening. ÷ALMOST a quarter of a century has passed since ice skater John Curry, pictured, an Olympic and world champion, died at the age of 44. According to the BBC4 blurb, Monday’s 90minute Storyville special is ‘a searing documentary about a lost cultural icon – a story of art, sport, sexuality and rebellion’.
