ALL of those Neymar Jr jerseys that appeared in our local pubs this month looked so cool. Brazil, of course, have the greatest jersey on the planet – and nobody seems to know that they wore all white until they fell flat on their faces when hosting the World Cup in 1950. But the name on all of those same brilliant yellow shirts came close to discrediting nearly 70 years of magic from the boys in Brazil. Neymar’s crying, diving, cheating ways did their level best over the last couple of weeks to turn a team of beauty into everyone’s pet team to hate in this tournament. He won’t be missed in these parts.
