Armagh may have the momentum but Roscommon’s form carries more weight. They may have lost the Connacht final to Galway but showed in that game that they could compete against a top four team, only beaten in the closing minutes. They are also boosted by the availability of Cathal Compton and Fintan Cregg. Armagh’s last game against a top four team was last year’s 18-point mauling at the hands of Tyrone. They are better than that — and showed real character in coming from behind last weekend against Clare — but not that much better.
