It’s a case of Déjà vu for Fermanagh as the last time they lost an Ulster final they faced Kildare in the fourth round qualifier where their death was quick and brutal. In 2008 they were hampered by a six-day turnaround, so at least this time they have had two weeks to prepare. Still, this will not be easy for Cian O’Neill’s team. Carlow, who play to the same defensive blueprint as Fermanagh, left Kildare in a heap while Longford — who the Erne men edged out in winning promotion — had the Lilywhites in all sorts of bother in their second round qualifier.
