LIMERICK FC NEED HELP

A DIFFERENT code, but my heart went out to Limerick FC this week after they were forced to release several of their players. Soccer has a great tradition in the city and in Pat O’Sullivan (right) it had one of the most generous and committed patrons, but he has been left isolated and now the club is in a very difficult place. That saddens me because even though it is not my code, the Market Field is an iconic venue rich in history and O’Sullivan is a man I know to be rich in spirt and generosity. On top of that, on a personal level, when I was managing Limerick some of the county’s best supporters came from the soccer community. It is time to repay that debt by rowing in behind them.
