Depp sued over ‘drunken assault on LA movie set’

-

JOHNNY Depp is being sued again – as the location manager on City Of Lies, whom the actor allegedly ‘punched in the ribs’ in May, has hired a lawyer, according to TMZ.

The 53-year-old film star, pictured, allegedly lost his temper after Gregg ‘Rocky’ Brooks told him he had to wrap a scene because the permit was running out on the LA street that had been closed for filming.

A source told Page Six at the time that the star was ‘six inches away’ from Rocky’s face, yelling: ‘Who are you? You have no right!’

The source alleged that when Rocky replied: ‘I’m just doing my job’, Depp punched him, screaming: ‘I’ll give you $100,000 to punch me right now.’ He allegedly continued his tirade until he was pulled off by bodyguards.

The movie City Of Lies stars the actor as reallife LAPD detective Russell Poole, who investigated the 1997 murder of 24-year-old rapper Biggie Smalls.

According to the lawsuit, Mr Brooks was concerned about the star’s volatility and went to get an LAPD officer for protection, but was attacked before he could get help.

He also said Depp’s breath reeked of alcohol during the altercation. The suit seeks unspecified damages, and the actor’s rep has yet to comment, according to TMZ.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star is already facing suits filed in May in California Superior Court by two former bodyguards for unpaid wages and overtime. The actor is also in a long-running legal war with his former managers. However, Depp remains in demand, with four of his films currently in different states of production: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, Richard Says Goodbye, London Fields and The Invisible Man.
