says agreeing to replace Warren Gatland as Wales coach was a ‘no-brainer’ — even if he does not take over for 16 months. Pivac, 55, the Scarlets head coach, got the job yesterday but won’t join the Welsh Rugby Union until July 2019. He will then succeed fellow New Zealander Gatland in November after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
