Rain on way but water is still scarce

RAINFALL is expected over the coming days – but the public is urged to continue conserving water.

‘We want people to be mindful that this needs to continue and even if there is a small amount of rain it would take a period of sustained rainfall [to replenish reservoirs],’ said an Irish Water spokesman.

‘There is still a lot more that needs to be done in order to get back to a level that we would be away from the critical stage that we are in at the moment.’
