US ordered to reunite families
THE US government has been ordered to reunite 63 children under the age of five who were separated from their parents by immigration officials after arriving from Mexico.
A federal judge told government lawyers he was sticking with deadlines he set in June, when he ordered children under five to be reunited by yesterday, and another 2,000 to be back with their parents by July 26.
The children were taken from their parents under Donald Trump’s ‘zero tolerance’ immigration policy.
