A. Kathryn Thomas B. Jenni Murray C. Graham Norton D. Elaine Crowley

ANSWERS 1) Both of them

IT REMAINS Streep’s biggest box office success, ahead of Into The Woods and The Devil Wears Prada. It was also at one point the highest grossing live action musical film but was overtaken by Beauty and the Beast just last year.

The DVD was the first to sell more than five million copies in Britain, meaning it is in almost one in four households.

2) C. Croatia

WHILE both films are set on the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi, the first was actually filmed in Greece (on the island of Skopelos) while the second was made on the Croatian island of Vis. The former Yugoslav Army base has a population of fewer than 4,000 people, but is bracing itself for an influx of Abba-crazed tourists.

3) FALSE

HOWEVER, Cher is only three years older than her on-screen daughter, Streep.

4) C. Dawn French

SHE said she was told the part ‘was pretty much mine’, but things changed when she was asked to sing. Instead, she settled for doing a French and Saunders spoof for Red Nose Day and Julie Walters got the part.

5) D. Because the show had cheered her up in the wake of 9/11

STREEP first saw the Broadway show in October 2001, when she took her daughter and her friends to cheer them up. ‘Everybody was really dimmed spiritually after 9/11,’ she said. ‘We all went out of the theatre floating on the air. I thought: “What a gift to New York right now.” ’

6) B. Jenni Murray

THE radio host and journalist has called herself ‘Mamma Mia!’s biggest fan’. She was disappointed by the film, preferring the stage show, but said it still made her cry.
