Police make life hell for ‘Angels’

ABOUT 400 detectives have been deployed across Portugal in a crackdown on a Hells Angels gang.

The attorney general’s office said police carried out around 80 search warrants and dozens of arrest warrants. Officers are calling it ‘a vast operation’ that seeks to dismantle the violent criminal motorcycle gang.

Hells Angels are relatively new in Portugal. Elsewhere in Europe, prosecutors in Germany and the Netherlands have cracked down on the gang’s activities in recent times.
