‘She’s a piece of trash!’
WHEN he left his wife for a younger lover, Ewan McGregor created a rift with his eldest daughter that took months to slowly heal.
But Clara McGregor’s contempt for her father’s new girlfriend shows no sign of lessening.
She called American actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead ‘a piece of trash’ in an online rant.
Ms McGregor, 22, went on to one of the fan pages for Ms Winstead on picture-sharing site Instagram to accuse the 33-year-old of tearing her family apart.
Writing under glowing comments alongside a photograph of the actress, she said: ‘Most beautiful and talented woman on earth? Oh man, y’all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash.’
Her post sparked a bitter spat, with some backing the denouncement of Ms Winstead – and others defending her while criticising Ms McGregor’s outburst.
In a subsequent post, Ms McGregor, a New York-based model, defended her actions and accused Ms Winstead of ‘tearing apart a family of four kids’.
McGregor, 47, left his wife Eve Mavrakis, 52, and their four daughters last year and moved out of their LA home.
His relationship with Ms Winstead, his co-star in US TV drama Fargo, was revealed when they were spotted kissing in a London restaurant.
The Trainspotting star filed for divorce from his wife of 22 years in January, six months after the split.
Clara and sisters Jamyan, 17, Esther, 16, and Anouk, seven, rallied round their mother. Ms Mavrakis, who called the marital split ‘disappointing and upsetting’, is understood to have welcomed Ms Winstead into their family home in 2016 during filming for Fargo.
In the drama, Ms Winstead and McGregor play lovers. She is alleged to have developed a ‘teenage crush’ on the Scottish actor.
