WHEN people start having inexplicab­le delusions that lead to their deaths, a teenage Sherlock Holmes decides to investigat­e. Surprising­ly enjoying 1985 movie directed by Barry Levinson with Nicolas Rowe as the detective.

CLASSIC LAUGHS Dad’s Army, 8pm, Gold

IN the 1976 Christmas special, the vicar organises a bazaar to which each member of the platoon donates something. Hodges the greengroce­r provides three rare oranges – and Mainwaring (Arthur Lowe) is determined to get one for his wife.

THRILLER Victor Frankenste­in, 9pm, Film4

USUALLY a source of mockery, Dr Frankenste­in’s assistant, Igor, is the focus (and narrator) of this retelling of Mary Shelley’s story. Daniel Radcliffe (pictured below) plays Igor, with James McAvoy as the ‘visionary’ he teams up with.

A STORY OF CRIME Murder In Soho: Who Killed Freddie Mills?, 9pm, BBC4

SET in Sixties Soho, this is an absorbing real-life murder mystery about the life and untimely death of a national boxing hero. The film delves into the world of UK and US organised crime to investigat­e the murder of Freddie Mills, a world champion boxer shot dead in 1965.

GROWN-UP DRAMA This Is Us, 9pm, More4

WE’RE back in tear-jerking territory in an episode that deals with brothers, and the revelation of a secret from Jack’s time in Vietnam. Kate has a secret, too, and deals with it in surprising ways, few of them pleasant – and she’s joined in that by Kevin, who is spiralling further into Jack territory with his drinking.

DARK REALITY Diabolical Women, 10pm, Really

THIS new series explores the dark minds of dangerous female predators who plan extraordin­ary crimes in order to get what they want. The opening episode focuses on Sante Kimes, the glamorous wife of a California millionair­e, who brainwashe­d her son into becoming her partner in crime.
