Now Johnny Depp claims ex-wife Amber punched him in the face twice

-

JOHNNY Depp was punched twice in the face by his wife in a heated row when he arrived two hours late for her birthday party, the actor’s lawyers have claimed.

Actress Amber Heard, 32, who divorced the star last year, is alleged to have been ‘aggressive and violent’ to Depp, 55, after guests left the party.

Legal papers lodged in London’s High Court by the Pirates of the Caribbean star claim she was abusive towards him in April 2016. They allege Ms Heard ‘began criticising the claimant for being late’.

Pointing out that Depp was ‘not drunk or high on drugs’, they said: ‘Miss Heard, who had been drinking, became aggressive and violent... punching him twice in the face.’

Ms Heard was granted $7million in a divorce settlement after she showed photos of facial bruises allegedly caused by Depp when he threw a mobile phone at her. She claimed he was physically and emotionally abusive towards her throughout their 15-month marriage.

They submitted depositions by two police officers who say they saw no marks on her when they were called to the scene and that Ms Heard has told them ‘nothing’ had happened.

In the papers, it said: ‘The security observed [Depp] standing in the kitchen, far away from Ms Heard. At that moment, Ms Heard yelled, “Stop hitting me, Johnny” into the phone. The claimant was not hitting Ms Heard. Ms Heard was about 25 feet away.’

Last night a lawyer for Ms Heard denied the punching allegations and expressed concerns about Depp’s ‘state of mind’, pointing to a recent interview where he was said to be ‘incoherent’.

The lawyer said: ‘These allegations are totally false. One needs only read the recent Rolling Stone article about Mr Depp and the lawsuit filed against him by a location manager, among many other recent news stories and lawsuits, to understand his state of mind.’

The troubled star, whose films have pulled in €3billion globally, is said to have personally earned €550million.

The new allegations emerged as part of a libel case by Depp against a British newspaper. Ms Heard filed a domestic violence restraining order against the star at the end of their marriage.

As part of the divorce, she withdrew her claims that he was a wifebeater and he retracted the suggestion that she was a gold-digger after the agreement was reached.

Last month, Depp reached a settlement in a $25 million legal battle with his former business managers.

The actor sued his Los Angelesbased managers for ‘fraud and theft’ which left him tens of millions of dollars in debt.
