Viva Meraviglia, it’s only fabulous Las Vegas at sea!

LAS Vegas on the water... it was a new one on me but the comparison does hold true. The MSC Meraviglia is glitzy, fun and classy just like Vegas which of course we put to the test for the 10th birthday of MSC trading in Ireland this week.

Passengers on the Meraviglia who are currently touring Ireland, Britain and North Europe don’t go wanting when it comes to entertainment, and high on the list of things to do on board is take in a performance of the Cirque du Soleil.

While the passengers were off shopping and touring for the day, and don’t forget they pump serious moolah into our economy, we were treated to Cirque du Soleil’s Sonor... don’t ask me what it was about but their acrobatic feats take the breath away. Talking of which we were so close you could almost feel their breath.

And so close that they would be able to pull up anybody catching forty winks which I confess I did when I watched The Beatles Love in Vegas last year. Not because it was anything other than riveting but the combination of jet lag and Daiquiris did for me! It was only for a couple of minutes, honest.

It will be difficult though going back to watching theatre from the cheap seats after being given a front seat with a table, cocktail and tray of crisps and chocolate.

Talking of chocolate, MSC has only employed Jean-Philippe Maury to create his chocolate and patisserie range on board. Yes, the same Messr Maury who gave us the world’s largest chocolate fountain in the Bellagio in Vegas. Messer Murty would gladly wade through anything he has to offer.
