JAGUAR’S ELECTRIC DREAMS
JAGUAR will debut its first all-electric SUV, the I-Pace, at the National Ploughing Championships in Scraggan, near Tullamore in Co. Offaly, when the event kicks off on September 18. The car will be at the centre of the Jaguar Land Rover stand in Block 3, Row, 8, where Kathryn Thomas will host cookery demonstrations by Rachel Allen, and you also will get a look at the all-new Land Rover Discovery Commercial.
ROLLS-ROYCE’S PRIVATE AFFAIR
ROLLS-ROYCE has produced what probably is the most private passenger in the cabin in the world. The new extended wheelbase Phantom comes with electrochromatic glass between the front and rear cabins, and it can be switched from transparent to opaque at the flick of a button. The company says this allows business meetings to be conducted in total privacy, though I can think of at least one other use too.
MAJOR VAN LAUNCH
GROUPE PSA is to launch three new vans – one each for its major brands. The Peugeot Partner, Citroën Berlingo and Opel Combo share the same platform, and the group hopes they will increase its already market-leading share of 20%. The vans offer features more usually found in passenger cars, including driving and manoeuvring assistance systems and adjustable lumbar support. They go on sale here early next year.
