Now Outlander Caitriona goes back in time with photos of her first job

-

CAITRIONA Balfe has revealed the stunning images from her first fashion shoot in Paris as a teenager. The Outlander star, who is set to appear in the fourth series of the time-travelling series this autumn, posted the throwback pictures from nearly 20 year ago on Instagram.

Her trip to Paris came on the invitation of a model scout who had travelled to Dublin and spotted the Monaghan beauty when she was a first year theatre student.

Yesterday, the former Victoria’s Secret model, who walked runways for Calvin Klein, Gucci and Chanel during a career in high fashion, said she was delighted to find the photographs, right, of one of her first shoots.

‘Don’t know where someone found these... but this was one of my first photo shoots in Paris almost 20 years ago,’ she said in the Instagram post.

‘I look back and think what a baby, and how scared and unsure of myself I was .... but also what an amazing journey I’ve been privileged to travel since then.

‘Looking back on all the ups and downs, somehow I’ve managed to arrive in a pretty great place.’

The model made the shift back to her first love, acting, earlier this decade. The actress has become a household name in the role of the heroine Claire Randall in the smash hit TV series Outlander.

In the drama, Claire is an English wartime nurse who is catapulted through time to the Scotland of 1743 where she meets the dashing Highland chieftain Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan.

The upcoming series sees Claire and Jamie explore a whole new frontier in the American colonies.

Meanwhile, in real life, 38-year-old Caitriona divides her time between Scotland, where hit show is filmed, and Los Angeles, where she has been living in recent years.

And the Irish actress is filming a new movie opposite A-listers Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

The untitled Ford vs. Ferrari movie centres on the true story of the battle between Ford and Ferrari to win Le Mans in 1966.

It follows an eccentric, determined team of American engineers and designers, led by automotive visionary Carroll Shelby, played by Matt Damon, and his British driver, Ken Miles, played by Christian Bale.

They are dispatched by Henry Ford II with the mission of building from scratch an entirely new automobile with the potential to finally defeat the dominant Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans World Championship. Caitriona will portray Mollie Miles, the wife of Ken Miles, in the movie.

She previously starred opposite George Clooney and Julia Roberts in the thriller, Money Monster.
