Baby steps as Dec parades daughter Isla

- Irish Daily Mail Reporter news@dailymail.ie

PROUD parents Declan Donnelly and Ali Astall emerged with newborn daughter Isla on Sunday afternoon, one week after announcing her birth.

The couple, who returned home with Isla the previous day, were joined by the family dog Rocky as they took a stroll in south London.

Dec, 42, was on pram duty during their daughter’s first family outing since her birth on September 1.

Ant and Dec’s official Twitter page confirmed Isla’s birth that day with a sweet snap of the newborn baby holding her proud dad’s hand.

An accompanying caption read: ‘Ali and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our baby girl, Isla Elizabeth Anne, who was born just after 9 o’clock this morning. Mother and daughter both doing well, Dad is head over heels! D x’.

Dec confirmed he and Ali were to become parents in March with a message shared on Twitter.

Addressing pregnancy rumours at the time, the television host said: ‘Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages. The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for the love, we really appreciate it.’

Dec and Ali tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in his Newcastle hometown back in 2015 – just one year after the pair struck up a romance and moved in together.

The pair had been in one another’s lives for 13 years, as Ali the Australian beauty was hired as the duo’s manager back in 2005.

It now seems that Dec will be incredibly busy in the upcoming months as he enjoys fatherhood, as well as taking on his eagerly anticipated hosting duties for the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in November.

However, Dec will be hosting the show without his co-host Ant McPartlin, who is taking a break from all presenting roles until 2019.

Taking over the role for this year’s edition as a host for the jungle series is Holly Willoughby.
