‘Kanye’s US presidency bid? I think he’s serious’

-

KANYE West took to Twitter at the weekend to once again tease his long-rumoured presidential ambitions.

The 41-year-old rapper, pictured, simply posted the numbers ‘2024’ to the social media platform. The numbers are quite possibly a reference to the year in which a new president could be elected, should Donald Trump serve two terms. His on-off friend John Legend had previously revealed that West is definitely thinking about running in 2024.

The singer, who recently admitted that he is still ‘civil’ with the rapper despite the two disagreeing on their political views, has admitted that West has spoken of his desire for the US presidency ‘multiple times’.

‘I think he’s serious,’ Legend admitted in the Dan Wootton Interview podcast, before disclosing that his political ambitions have been inspired by Trump. The husband of Kim Kardashian first expressed his desire to become president at the VMAs in 2015 where he revealed he would run in 2020.

However, in an interview with Power 92 Chicago last week, Kanye revealed he still has the same career goals but had pushed them to 2024. Legend was thrust into the centre of one of Kanye’s Twitter rants this spring after the rapper posted their private text messages online – messages in which Legend had urged Kanye to reconsider aligning himself with Trump.

Kanye later took to Twitter accusing him of ‘manipulating my free thought’.
