ANOTHER week, another spectacula­r disaster, the details of which we won’t spoil – suffice to say that the writers must have a lot of fun dreaming them up. Meanwhile, Athena (Angela Bassett) looks a lot calmer now she’s been confined to a desk, and the bond between Abby (Connie Britton) and Buck (Oliver Stark, pictured) is renewed. Where will that take them?

PRISON MOVIE The Criminal, 9pm, Talking Pictures

JOSEPH LOSEY’S stylish crime thriller, reputedly banned here previously, stars Stanley Baker (pictured) as swaggering London gangster Johnny Bannion. While in and out of prison, Bannion finds his ‘top dog’ lifestyle – and his stash of loot – under threat from a new style of criminal organisati­on. The movie co-stars Sam Wanamaker and Margit Saad.

UNCANNY POWERS Seatbelt Psychic, 10pm, Lifetime

MORE from Thomas John, who gives people lifts in his car while delivering alarmingly specific psychic readings. Sometimes, the results are humorous – he tells a young couple they were siblings in a past life – and sometimes, they seem cathartic and lead to moments of quiet.
