Mother’s sky dive to honour tragic Elisha

A MOTHER whose 14-year-old daughter who died tragically is to go on a parachute jump with the girl’s friends to raise awareness about youth mental health.

Gráinne Gault’s daughter Elisha died on St Patrick’s Day and her body was found in a river eight days later.

Ms Gault revealed on Facebook she is taking part in a sky dive from 10,000ft on October 21 with the teen’s friends to raise awareness of mental health services for young people.

The body of the Elisha was found about eight kilometres from where she was last seen on a bridge in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary. A searchand-rescue Coast Guard helicopter discovered Elisha’s body.

Her grieving mother Gráinne has kept her daughter’s Facebook page as a memorial and to help people who have mental health difficulti­es.

On it, Ms Gault said those considerin­g taking their lives should remember people are there to help them.

She said: ‘Even if at times your mind tells you otherwise, you are loved, from your mother, father, sister, brother, child, best buddy even your coach, teacher – we are all loved by someone, even if we haven’t figured out how to love ourselves yet.

‘Step forward and do whatever it takes to regain the control you feel you are losing.

‘You are worth the fight.’
