Gemma vows to stick to diet as she knows she’s skating on thinnest ice

-

SHE kickstarted her Dancing On Ice training last week and just as importantly has pledged to get in shape so that her partner is able to lift her.

Gemma took to Instagram this week to show fans she is changing her diet as she shared a host of images of her extremely healthy meals.

For much of this month, the 37year-old Only Way Is Essex star has been tucking into vibrant-looking salads, complete with rocket, butternut squash and lentils, and Ryvita crackers, as she kickstarts her diet in her bid to shed six stone.

Gemma, who famously quit the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here jungle, has been candid about her fears for her stint on the show including her concerns that her partner will not be able to lift her up on the ice.

She told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: ‘I am scared, I am nervous. I don’t know – one, how they are going to lift me up and two, how fast I can move around that ice, but I really want to give it a go.’

On having a body transformation on the show, Gemma added: ‘The training is going to be intense, but I hear you really shape up doing the show so I might come out with the dream body after all.’

She has now unveiled the secrets behind her diet as she posted the shots of her various healthy lunches after slashing her calorie intake.

She also shared a snap of a bottle o f A g a v e n e c t a r, a s w e e t e n e r commercially produced from species of plant that contains fructose as a carbohydrate providing sweetening properties – perfect to help her quit sugar.

Ensuring she steered away from unhealthy snacks, Gemma also showed a pack of Ryvita Fruit Crunch crackers, made with currants, seeds and oats.

After sharing the pictures, Gemma was subject to headlines when it was reported she is set to host the BBC Radio 1 Teen Award.

Last year, she was left red-faced after tumbling feet first through a trap door in front of horrified guests at the award show.

At the time, she threatened to take legal action following the fall last October after plummeting through a hole which other stars were using to enter the stage.

However it appears that is now all in the past, as a source told The Sun that the BBC is keen to make amends with the reality favourite.

The insider said: ‘Last year’s fall made worldwide headlines and the clip had millions of views online. Although it was genuinely scary for Gemma, it was a massive talking point and it’s only helped her profile grow. BBC Radio 1 of course wanted to invite her back and make amends for what happened and she jumped at the opportunity.’
