Gardaí injured after car flips

TWO gardaí were in hospital last night after their squad car crashed and flipped over during a call-out.

The male and female officers were reportedly responding to a call about youths gathering bonfire fuel in Ringsend, on Dublin’s southside.

A Garda spokesman said: ‘Gardaí in Irishtown are investigating an official vehicle involved in a road traffic collision that occurred yesterday at approximately 5pm on Pigeon House Road, Ringsend. Two members (one male and one female) were in the vehicle when it overturned and were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with minor injuries.’
