THE funeral of renowned music promoter John Reynolds is to take place on Thursday.

The 52-year-old, who died suddenly at his home last week, was known for being one of the most successful concert promoters in the country.

In a statement released by his family yesterday, it was announced that Mr Reynolds will be reposing at the Cranford Centre on Stillorgan Road, Dublin 4, tomorrow between 5pm and 8pm, before a funeral Mass the following afternoon in the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook.

His family also thanked ‘the media, music industry and general public for their condolences, tributes and support over recent days’.

The Longford native, who was the nephew of the late former taoiseach Albert Reynolds, set up Electric Picnic and owned the PoD nightclub on Harcourt Street in Dublin.

He also had stakes in the Market Bar on Fade Street, the Button Factory in Temple Bar, and Bellinter House in Navan, Co. Meath.

Tributes poured in after the news of his death broke, with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar tweeting: ‘Very sorry to hear the news. Man who gave us all so many great experiences from the PoD to EP. Ireland is less today for his passing.’
