Former head of Sinn Féin offers up baking tasters at launch of bizarre cookbook
TIOCFAIDH ár cáca milis... He’s already released a book of his wacky tweets, and now Gerry Adams has launched his cookbook, distributing his own fruitcake-style pudding to guests in Belfast yesterday.
Swapping the Armalite for the sodium bicarbonate, the Louth TD and former Sinn Féin leader said he learned a lot about cooking during the long years of negotiations that led to the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.
Sinn Féin’s leader in the North, Michelle O’Neill, was among those who contributed recipes to The Negotiators Cookbook.
Mr Adams, who often tweets pictures of his efforts in the kitchen, launched his book at the An Cultúrlann centre on west Belfast’s Falls Road.
The former Sinn Féin president stepped down earlier this year after 34 years at the party helm.
