IN IRELAND, childhood and adolescent cancer is cured in about 80% of patients. However, treatment can also cause damage, with some effects not seen until years later.

Ireland does not have an established survivorship programme, something CanCare4Living, the national organisation for survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer, hopes will change.

The organisation will be holding a public meeting on November 13, in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny where those who have survived childhood cancer, their families and supporters can learn more about its aims and focus.
