Yucatan up for a Cup run

AIDAN O’BRIEN’S easy Herbert Power winner Yucatan Ire and Saeed bin Suroor’s Caulfield Cup hero Best Solution are among 47 horses still in contention for the Emirates Melbourne Cup after the second acceptance stage. Only 24 can run in the Flemington showpiece next Tuesday, with O’Brien also leaving in The Cliffsofmoher and Rostropovich. Iain Jardine’s Nakeeta, fifth last year, needs two to drop out currently to ensure a run.
