Meghan puts the boot in as Harry get a thrashing

- By Irish Daily Mail Reporter

SHE may have spend most of her adult life under the bright lights of Hollywood, but Meghan Markle can compete at country pursuits as well as the next woman.

The former Suits star donned her rainwear and put the boot in by thrashing her husband Prince Harry at the traditional local pastime of welly-wanging in New Zealand as their tour of the country came to a close. Meghan and Harry teamed up with schoolchildren in Auckland in a quirky gumboot-hurling contest.

The pregnant duchess – in €135 wellies from The Original Muck Boot Company, black J. Crew jeans and black hooded zip-up jacket – helped her team emerge victorious, landing her gumboot a good metre closer to the target than her husband did.

Her team-mate Ryen Anderson, ten, said: ‘Meghan was asking us how to throw and we said it doesn’t matter. She didn’t know she could throw that far and she surprised herself.’

The couple’s 16-day Commonwealth tour ends today.

Earlier this month the pair announced they are to become parents.
