Austria No to migrant pact

THE Austrian government has said it will not sign a global pact to promote safe and orderly migration.

It cited concerns about national sovereignty as it joined neighbouring Hungary in shunning the agreement.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, pictured, is in a coalition with the nationalist, anti-migration Freedom Party.

He said: ‘There are some points that we view critically and where we fear a danger to our national sovereignty.’
