SALES of glitter are up a whopping 683 per cent at Superdrug, as women of all ages dip into the trend.

But Lynne Sanders, founder of Cosmetics A La Carte, warns: ‘Cosmetic manufacturers turned to borosilicate, made of finely ground glass fibre. There remains a risk it can scratch the cornea and damage your lungs.’ She advises avoiding creating clouds of glitter you may breathe in, adding: ‘When removing, wipe sideways, not down into your eyes.’
