TIR CHONAILL GAELS almost caused one of the shocks of the season before being pegged back by Clann na nGael at Dr Hyde Park yesterday. When man of the match Killian Burke pointed on the turn in the 42nd minutes, the Exiles were on course for a famous victory. But Clann called on all their experience, and Graham Pettit’s goal two minutes later garnered the Roscommon champions a lifeline before they closed out the deal with late points from Donal Shine, who finished with 0-9 overall, Darra Pettit and Ciarán Lennon. Clann had weathered the storm to set up a semi-final meeting with the Galway champions next weekend.
