WAGNER WANTS UNITY IN SEARCH FOR WIN

- DAVID KENT

MANAGER David Wagner insists Huddersfield must stick together and not panic as they go in search of their first win of the season against Fulham tonight. Wagner’s side are rooted to the foot of the table having failed to win any of their opening 10 matches this term. Huddersfield chairman Dean Doyle, however, has insisted his manager will not face the axe, even if the club are relegated. Speaking ahead of hosting a Fulham side also struggling for form, Wagner (left) said: ‘Over the last three years, and the starting point that we had, this has created a relationship [with the board] where we know we can only continue to be successful if we stick together, and if we have the right thing in our head.’ Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic, meanwhile, fears there are unrealistic expectations of his teenage star Ryan Sessegnon as his side chase just a second league win. ‘Ryan has some unnecessary high responsibility because many people are focused on this man and how he is going to save the team,’ said Jokanovic. ‘This extra pressure on this man is not necessary.’
