Fundraiser to bring tragic Robert home

- By Emer Scully

ALMOST €2,000 has been raised to take the body of a man found murdered and mutilated in a Dublin house back to Malawi.

Limbani Mzoma’s body was found with stab wounds at a rented house in the upmarket suburb of Foxrock, Co. Dublin.

The 27-year-old was born in Malawi and moved to Ireland in 2013 – he was due to move back to Africa next year.

Sources described the scene as ‘an abattoir’ and ‘a horror show’ after Limbani, also known as Robert, was killed at around 11.30pm on Thursday.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to pay for Mr Mzoma’s body to be repatriated.

The organiser, JP Chirwa, set up the page with the tagline ‘Let’s bring Robert home’ and has so far raised almost €2,000 of the €7,000 goal.

Tributes poured in as donations were made.

One comment said: ‘Rest in power young man. Sad and shocking.’

The page was set up on November 4 three days after his death. Many people have donated online to help lessen the burden on his grieving family.

Robert’s father told The Star on Sunday: ‘I am so in shock at the moment. It is all too sad for me and for all the family. It is too much and I cannot believe this has happened.

‘He was a brave, courageous young man and was very friendly to everyone he met.’

Mr Mzoma was helping to build a school in Limerick at the time of his death and was due to return home next year.

Grace Miano appeared on Sunday before Dublin District Court accused of the murder.

She was remanded in custody to appear at Dún Laoghaire District Court on Friday. She waved and appeared to smile at press photographers as she was brought to court.

The 50-year-old, who is from Kenya, has complained of pain in her head and legs since being taken into custody on Friday, the court was told.

She has been seen by a doctor at the gardaí station ‘on several occasions’ when she requested a medical and psychiatric assessment, the court heard.

Ms Miano was arrested after Mr Mzoma’s body was found by his housemates.
