Cliona and Demi step out with the stars

A COUNTRY music singer and an actress complete this year’s line-up of Dancing With The Stars.

The star of The Young Offenders Demi Isaac Oviawe and singer Cliona Hagan were announced last night to be the final participan­ts for series three. Ms Oviawe said that she was excited to be in this year’s show and can’t wait to learn a new skill.

some might even follow in my dance steps,’ said Ms Oviawe.

Ms Hagan said: ‘I’m very excited, nervous, and a little apprehensi­ve, but overall I’m feeling great.’

Ms Oviawe and Ms Hagan were joined on the Late Late Show last night by former Irish and Munster scrum-half Peter Stringer, confirming his participat­ion in the competitio­n.

Mr Stringer said he is ‘nervous but up to the challenge’.

He said: ‘I’ve never danced on a dance floor before so going from that to dancing in front of a live audience will be a whole new experience.’

The full line-up for series three is Peter Stringer, Cliona Hagan, Demi Isaac Oviawe, Clelia Murphy, Mairead Ronan, Johnny Ward, Eilish O’Carroll, Denis Bastick, Darren Kennedy, Fred Cooke and Holly Carpenter.

Returning to the panel of judges are Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry and Julian Benson.

Dancing with the Stars will return to RTÉ One, beginning on January 6.
