Bjorn goes back to basics to get tattoo after Ryder Cup promise

-

WASPS quintet Jimmy Gopperth, Ashley Johnson, Tommy Taylor, Simon McIntyre and Ben Harris have agreed new contracts with the club. New Zealand-born Gopperth arrived at the Ricoh Arena in 2015 and has scored 771 points in 78 appearances for the club, but has yet to appear this season as an ACL injury has seen him sidelined for four months. Hooker Johnson has been with Wasps since 2012, scoring 38 tries in 175 games, while loosehead prop Harris joined the club ahead of the 2017/18 season and has gone on to play 65 times for Wasps.

THOMAS BJORN has kept his promise to have Europe’s Ryder Cup-winning score tattooed on his backside. European captain Bjorn said he would have the tattoo if his team beat the USA this summer and retweeted a video showing him having a 17 1/2-10 1/2 scoreline and trophy tattoo. ‘I told you I would do it,’ he posted on Twitter, tagging in some of his victorious team members. In the video, initially posted by Ryder Cup Europe, Bjorn is shown entering a tattoo parlour and then grimacing as he lays face down on a table during the procedure. When it is completed, the Dane looks up briefly and wishes viewers a merry Christmas, before wearily dropping his head on to the back of his hands.

DWAYNE HARRIS returned a punt 99 yards for a touchdown after Denver failed to down it, and the Raiders gave their fans plenty to celebrate in their possible final game in Oakland, beating the Broncos 27-14 on Monday night. The Raiders (4-11) are set to move to Las Vegas in 2020 and have no lease for next year. With Oakland officials having sued the team over the move, the Raiders are looking into other options for 2019, including AT&T Park in San Francisco. A decision is expected before the Super Bowl.
