It’s Gone Travolta... the wig’s off for the new year

-

JOHN Travolta has finally given up the wigs and hairpieces as he embraces his natural bald look for a selfie.

The 64-year-old actor shared a snap on Instagram, showcasing his new look, while raising a martini glass.

‘I hope everyone had a great year,’ Travolta said in the caption of his new snap, where he was pictured alongside his 18-year-old daughter Ella Bleu.

The actor was wearing a full tuxedo while his daughter Ella was wearing a black blouse in the snap, which may have been taken on New Year’s Eve. It’s not clear when Travolta embraced his new hairless look, but he shared a Christmas Day video with wife Kelly Preston, daughter Ella and son Ben while wearing a white hat.

It’s not the first time he has ever been pictured bald, though.

In 2010, he shaved off his hair to play Charlie Wax in From Paris With Love alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Although Travolta has never admitted to having any kind of hair treatment, he said at the time that he loved that his character was bald. He said: ‘I like it a lot, because it’s a bald look and it allows me freedom to be bald.

‘Just like in Pulp Fiction, this unusual kind of Dutch haircut gave me a kind of Euro-trash feeling to the character, this hero hitman.’

Travolta also sported the more natural look during a 2011 family holiday, and again in 2016 when he posed for a selfie with a fan in the gym.

Travolta sported a quiff as Danny Zuko in 1978 movie Grease that made him a superstar. He sported even longer hair as Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction in 1994.
