(Sky 140) FILM THRILLER Red Sparrow, 8pm, Sky Premiere LIKE Killing Eve, but without the wit, empowermen­t or success, this violent thriller stars Jennifer Lawrence (right) as a Russian ex-ballerina training to be a seducer/assassin. SUPERHERO STORY Titans, Netflix THIS darkly gripping superhero show follows Robin without Batman as he works for the Detroit Police Department and builds his own team of heroes. Also on Netflix, US comedy The Good Place returns for a new weekly run today. BEAT IT . . . On Drums – Stewart Copeland!, 9pm, BBC4 COPELAND has been in the drumming business for more than half a century and is ‘under no illusion how our tribe is regarded’. He gamely trots out some drummer jokes before digging into drumming’s real importance – and its roots – in this lively new history. FRENCH CRIME The Crimson Rivers, 9pm, More4 DETECTIVES Niemans and Delaunay shake up the aristocrac­y in the first of this new French series. The first case begins with a decapitate­d Count known for his ‘exotic tendencies’. TO THE RESCUE Chicago Fire, 9pm, Sky Witness THIS explosive crossover with Chicago PD and Chicago Med starts as it means to go on, with the firefighte­rs rushing to a blaze in a 22-storey building. The medics are soon involved, too, and a connection with the Halstead brothers becomes apparent. NEW COMEDY DRAMA Sex Education, Netflix RACY, snappy new school drama that’s set in Britain, but feels very American in tone. Asa Butterfiel­d stars as a nervous virgin whose sex therapist mum (Gillian Anderson, pictured with Butterfiel­d) doesn’t flinch from analysing his friends – and he may have a talent for it, too . . . CLASSIC MOVIE The Blues Brothers, 9pm, ITV4 ANARCHIC musical comedy classic from John Landis. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd tear around Chicago in matching suits, shades and porkpie hats as they try to save an orphanage from closure in the most chaotic, funny and dangerous ways. LEGAL EAGLE Bull, 10pm, Fox DR JASON BULL, the formerly hard-living ‘jury expert’, is back for a third season of cases. He’s a changed man after his heart attack – slimmer, a consumer of health drinks and with a harder attitude than we’ve seen before. ‘This is a business, not a charity,’ he says.
