MOTORING MISSION Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars, 9pm, Quest ‘BACK in the day, I did have a quiff.’ Drew Pritchard is moved to nostalgia in the first of his returning restoration series, in which he and mechanic Paul Cowland go in search of a Ford Capri to spruce up. Paul rarely loses an opportunity to rib him about such reminiscences. INTERNET PIONEERS Valley Of The Boom, 9pm, National Geographic THE West Wing’s Bradley Whitford stars in a well-balanced new sixpart docudrama, which details the companies and colourful characters of the buccaneering early days of the internet. It’s informative, entertaining and unpredictable – one scene is conducted as a dance. L.A. DRAMA Ray Donovan, 9pm, Sky Atlantic RAY is settling scores in the season finale of this US drama about a fixer who endures a seemingly endless run of bad luck. Liev Schreiber’s performance keeps Ray Donovan so watchable, and it’s a major part of why the show will be back for season seven. PRIVATE EYE Magnum P.I., 9pm, Sky One JAY Hernandez (pictured) sports a goatee rather than a moustache in the Tom Selleck role of this new Magnum series, which makes a splashy start – in space, believe it or not – and rolls along in fun fashion. Higgins (Perdita Weeks) is female, British and ex-MI6, and fans of the similar Hawaii Five-0 reboot will spot a familiar character in episode one. FREEVIEW MOVIE Miami Vice, 9pm, 5Star MICHAEL Mann revisits the streets and coastline of his Eighties TV series in a movie version, casting Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx as cops Crockett and Tubbs. Mann’s mastery of style, mood and action is very much in evidence, with angular shadows and masculine force replacing pastel hues and espadrilles. BREAKING THE STATES Just Another Immigrant, 10pm, Sky One ROMESH Ranganathan is on the verge of needing his own channel. For this new series, the prolific comedian takes his entire family (including his wife and three kids plus his mother and eccentric uncle) to the Los Angeles, hires a 6,000-seat venue and tries to sell it out. A good real-life underdog story that’s fun to watch. FRENCH FILM Jeune Femme, 10.25pm, Sky Premiere LIVELY tragicomedy following a woman coming unstuck after a long-term relationship comes to an end. Laetitia Dosch (pictured) plays 31-year-old Paula, who – finding herself jobless and homeless – goes in search of a fresh start amid the bustle of Paris.
