Is it just ME?

Or don’t women fancy younger men too?

- by Fiona Golfar

My latest crush is a 23-year-old film star. If that makes me a lech at 56, I don’t care!

NEWS last week that French film director Yann Moix couldn’t fancy a woman older than 50 caused a collective gasp. Every woman seemed outraged — except me, that is.

I mean, I love my 66-yearold husband, and still find him handsome, but I’m not talking love. This is about fantasy. And nothing beats a younger man, sexy and in his prime.

My latest crush is 23. Watching the film Beautiful Boy with my daughter, I found myself agreeing with her — the star Timothee Chalamet is gorgeous.

I don’t want to camp outside his house and scream every time he leaves, but he’s beautiful. Does that make me creepy? At 56, am I a lech? I don’t care.

Chalamet reminds me of the boys I’d fall for when I was 21. He has dark curls and a wide jaw and a megawatt smile. He feels charming. He reminds me of another time in my life.

As I watched that film, I wasn’t thinking about my bad back, how tired I was or the lines on my face. It was just pure pleasure.

I have two children of 20 and 23, and there have been times when they have come home with friends who have inspired me to run a comb through my hair.

Or, much to their amusement, I hear myself offering to cook dinner and, as my daughter later points out, outstaying my welcome.

There is nothing wrong with responding to beauty — you feel alive. Haven’t we reached a time when, if a woman wants to be attracted to a young man, all power to her? Look at filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson and her husband Aaron, who is 24 years younger.

So yes, I intend to keep enjoying a sneaky lech when I see a beautiful young man. At this time of year, it’s a less fattening treat than chocolate.
